Corlyn :: Senior

I adore this girl! I first met Corlyn when she was a bridesmaid in Katee and Casey’s wedding last summer. And here she is, in front of my camera again! She shows up to Katee’s house for pre-session prep. She’s wearing loungy clothes and announces that she hasn’t even brushed her hair yet today. Her vibe is a little tomboyish, a little badass, and witty and funny. The three of us chat and laugh, tell stories, listen to music, and attempt to get Katee to pull over to pick up a box of Krispy Kremes for the drive out to our shooting location (unsuccessful). We arrive, and I get Corlyn in front of my camera. In a cute dress and a pair of heels, she’s all giggles. The girl is GORGEOUS.

We shot until the sun went down. I LOVE this one of her. The sun had just ducked down below the horizon and the glow was just enough to light her face.

Gorgeous, gorgeous girl. Enjoy your senior year! I wish you all the very best – it keeps getting better :)

Jay :: Senior

Jay! My handsome cousin, and the final part in a series of senior sessions in St. Cloud, Minnesota along with my lovelies Jenna and Abby. He missed the gardens and the glowy fields earlier in the evening, but I have a feeling he didn’t mind the shorter timeframe ;) He looks dashing in his dress clothes, but I loved that we got some time on the water, he looks right at home out on the dock in shorts and sneaks! All that’s missing is the boat and a pair of skis.

More loveliness gracing these pages this evening! Meet Abby, another gorgeous cousin of mine, a senior in Albany, Minnesota. Part two in a three-part series along with Jenna and Jay. When she was little, she was referred to as my mini me. Lanky, blonde and blue-eyed, she looked just like I did, running down the dock at the lake with wild blonde hair flowing behind her. It’s hard to believe she’s graduating this year, but I know she’s ready to take on the world!

Jenna :: Senior

Well hello there, beautiful! Meet Jenna, my gorgeous cousin. She’s a senior this year. A SENIOR (eek!) in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Before I left for California, I rounded up my three cousins that are seniors this year for pictures. I rarely have openings for senior photography because the timing is during the busy wedding season, but I always love these sessions when I can sneak them in. This fun trio is Jenna, Abby and Jay. I’m starting with Jenna, and you’ll see the other two in the next two posts. We had a blast, laughing in the gardens, swatting mosquitos, frolicking in the tall grass, and looking oh-so lovely at the lake.

Without further adieu, miss Jenna, class of 2014.

And Wendy. Jenna’s mom. She is the mom of all moms, and friend of all friends. I have always looked up to Wendy. My sister’s girls

These girls…

These are my sister’s daughters, staying with us for a few days in Michigan from northern Minnesota. They are full of youth, adventure, and wild independence. Raw beauty. Every time I see them, I’m amazed at how much taller, smarter, and wittier they are. They’re becoming young ladies right before our eyes, and it’s an amazing thing. Just beautiful.
