Laura and Jon were married on a lovely, albeit another rainy, afternoon in Grand Rapids. In all honesty, I really don’t mind rainy days. I know rain is never what a bride wants on her wedding day, and I know the last thing she wants to hear is that “it brings luck!” I think it brings pretty skies, lovely misty raindrops, and a chance to break out the umbrellas for some really great images. And also, it rained on the morning of our wedding day, and well, we feel pretty lucky :) We wish the same for Jon and Laura!
I started with the girls at Laura’s parents’ home. And for their wedding blog post, I absolutely MUST begin with her shoes. Oh, her beautiful, perfect, incredible Kate Spade hot pink shoes. (My heart just did a flip as I typed that.)

Oh. Baby. And pretty flowers too!

What’s that? You want to see her shoes again? But of course:

Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready with Jamie. Jamie usually doesn’t come with me, but he tagged along for their engagement session in Ann Arbor and the four of us had a really great time together. Since then, we’ve become friends with Laura and Jon, so naturally, Jamie volunteered to tag along for the wedding. And by “tag along”, I mean be a total rockstar second shooter! Thanks babaroo! :)

The guys headed over to the house for Jon and Laura’s first look as she was putting on her final touches… the veil! For a lot of brides, this is the moment when you really feel like a bride ~

Jamie’s view from the top of the stairs – hey, that’s me on the right! Next to the fabulous and super sweet Anne from Inspiration Video! Is she adorable or what?

Jon and Laura set aside lots of time for pictures, which of course made me infinitely happy, and made for… well, LOTS of pictures. This might be a long post, you might want to get comfy ;)

We headed downtown next ~

So what happens when a bridesmaid forgets her bouquet in the limobus? You send a Jamie for it! :)

In love with these dresses, I think they are crazy-cute and absolutely wearable again!

It actually started to rain pretty good here, so we were very glad we had the stash of umbrellas!

Fabulous, dahlings, fabulous!

And then for just a moment… the sun broke out! My beloved, beautiful, gorgeous sun!!

We all headed into the reception, held at the always beautiful Grand Rapids Public Museum. As the bridal party entered, they all went straight to the dance floor, as the DJ (Rick Reuthers) played the Black Eyed Peas “I Gotta Feeling”. Awesome! Great way to get the party started!

Loved all of their details!

Candy Buffet!

And THE cutest cake topper, which was Laura’s great-grandparents’. It graced their wedding cake in 1929!

Milk and cookies too! In martini glasses!!

Of course, you can’t have your wedding at the GR Public Museum and not go for a spin on the carousel!

They wrapped up their wedding day with a sparkler sendoff on the bridge ~
