Katie and Hunter were married on a warm late August day in Frankfort, Michigan. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect… the private lakefront property on Crystal Lake where Katie and her family have spent their happiest days together. The family gathers at this home from points across the globe for holidays, get togethers, and now weddings. They said their vows at the Congregational Summer Assembly up the road, and took a little time at the beach with us before heading back. With a white tent over the tennis court where all the kids learned to ride their bikes, the two families raised their glasses to celebrate the newlyweds, Katie and Hunter.
Because this was a destination wedding for them, and most of their guests were from out of town, they chose all local artists, bands, and vendors for their three-day wedding weekend. Local honey as favors, flowers by a local designer, wine from Black Star Farms, a Traverse City vineyard… Aside from those adorable J.Crew bridesmaid dresses, nearly everything about the celebration was Michigan grown, and so very sweet 🙂
Time for a sweet little bride and groom session on their very own beach. Wardrobe change into a chic little white dress? Yes please!
And the guests danced to the music of the 33rd Street Band until the wee morning hours… 🙂
