{ Holli and Jake :: A Winter Wedding }

Holli and Jake had a gorgeous day for their winter wedding.  And I mean gorgeous like amaaaazing!  She and I had gotten together a couple weeks beforehand to go over their timeline, and to finalize a few details.  We talked about weather, and a backup plan for bad (as in dangerously blizzardy or gross and sleety) weather, and what would be ideal.  I said if I could choose the weather for the day, picture-wise, I would want a fresh white dusting of snow, and bright clean sunshine.  When I got up the morning of January 8th and looked out my window, I squealed with happiness.  It was puuuuurrrrfect!!!

Holli and Jake got ready separately in private homes in Grand Rapids, not seeing each other until walking down the aisle. The girls were having a great time, getting ready, talking about the day, playing with Holli & Jake’s adorable daughter, Aislynn. She couldn’t WAIT to put her dress on!  I loved Holli’s details – everything was timeless and elegant, with just enough winter sparkle…

Once everyone was ready, we headed off to the Parish of the Holy Spirit in Grand Rapids for their ceremony.

After the ceremony, a very brave, very lovely bridal party joined us for some outdoor pictures.  I should mention that it was about 20 degrees 😉

After the first location, everyone warmed up in the party bus for a bit while we took just Holli out.  Our second location was one of my favorite places, and the light… omigoodnesss…. I can’t even handle how much I was in love with the light.  Thank you, Michigan, for having such amazing winters!  Holli was amazing, I could have photographed her for hours.  Easy for me to say, I was wearing my down coat  😉

Meanwhile… a beautiful reception was being set up at St. George’s Hall downtown Grand Rapids. Perfectly timeless, elegant details!  Candelabras and cake plate by Events by I.Candy.

I loved this idea for the seating chart – it’s an old window!

And because I kinda love to save my favorites for last…. here are a few more from the field.  Winter sunset.  Seriously, my heart is melting!

Holli and Jake, congratulations to you!!  Thank you for having us, we SO enjoyed spending your incredible day with you.  Wishing you all the very best!!  xoxo, k+j
